📦 1.1 Unboxing and Tamper Verification

Source: Always purchase your Trezor directly from the official Trezor website or an authorized reseller. Unofficial channels pose a major security risk.

Seal Check: Inspect the packaging for any signs of tampering, such as damaged seals, opened boxes, or replaced components.
Device Check: The device itself should be pristine. The USB port must show no sign of prior connection.

💻 1.2 Initial Connection and Trezor Suite

Connect your Trezor using the official USB cable. Immediately download and install the official Trezor Suite desktop application. Avoid using web interfaces for setup.

⚠️ **NEVER use the device before installing the official Trezor Suite application.** It will guide you through authentic firmware installation, a critical security step.

📝 1.3 Recovery Seed Generation

The device will display your 12, 18, or 24-word **Recovery Seed**. This is your master key. Treat it with the utmost care.

Write the words down **in order** on the provided Recovery Seed card.
The Trezor will ask you to confirm a few random words to verify your transcription.

Physical storage in a fireproof safe is essential. Digital storage is the single biggest security failure.
